It will usually take a long time before you must replace an LED bulb. The typical LED bulb will give 100,000 hours of lighting in its one lifetime. In contrast, incandescent bulbs can last anywhere from 750 – 15,000 hours of lighting in one lifetime. That means that for one LED bulb, you would have to replace an incandescent bulb at least 6 times. The average incandescent bulb costs about $1, while the average LED costs about $7. If you have to replace the incandescent bulb 6 times before the LED bulb has been replaced once though, you’re paying about the same. So you may as well save yourself the trouble and buy an LED.
Better Quality
The lighting with LED lights is just better. Most incandescent bulbs come in a yellow hue. LEDs can be bought with this same yellow hue to them, but you can also buy them in hues that mimic daylight. Studies have shown that offices with better lighting have employees that are more efficient at work, so it is better to have a cheerful daytime atmosphere in the office than the dull yellow glow of an incandescent bulb. There are plenty of diverse lighting solutions with LED bulbs, too. In times past, you would have had to convert all the lighting fixtures in your business to LED friendly fixtures before you could start using LED lights. That is no longer so. Now, you can use LED lights in most lighting fixtures.
LED Lights Are Eco-Friendly
There are several reasons why LED lights are considered to be friendly to the environment. The most obvious one is that they are by far the most energy efficient. They also draw only one tenth the amount of power that an incandescent bulb would draw. There are no toxic chemicals in LED lights either. Many offices use fluorescent lights, which are known to use mercury. If a fluorescent bulb is not disposed of properly, then there is a potential for mercury to become a contaminant in landfills. The lack of this toxic chemical, in addition to the fact that LED lights will not need to be replaced as often, means that there is less harm to the environment through waste.
